Can marijuana cause panic attacks?

Yes, cannabis (marijuana) can cause panic attacks. The panic attacks can occur when intoxicated with cannabis, or when in withdrawal when stopping it. If your panic attacks and anxiety symptoms continue beyond 3 weeks after stopping cannabis, then you may be suffering from a separate anxiety disorder, apart from being triggered by cannabis.
