What if 80mg of propranolol doesn't help your anxiety?

+1 vote
I was diagnosed with ADHD about a year ago and am taking 60mg vyvance, 40mg propanolol (as needed) and 200mg of lamotrigine on a daily basis for about 6 months now. As far as my ADHD goes, I do tend to be more focused and can sit and pay attention to things for a longer amount of time but when it comes to my anxiety, I still struggle with day to day social interactions. Especially with co-workers, friends, my boss, and even people I don't know. I decided to take 80mg of propanolol to see if that would help. It did help somewhat but not as much as I would like. What can I do to decrease my anxiety further?

Propranolol only works for performance anxiety, and only works when you take it right before your performance (for example, if you have stage fright). However, propanolol does not work for other types of anxiety, such as social anxiety. Why are you being prescribed lamotrigine? Lamotrigine is not indicated for ADHD or anxiety. You may need a second opinion from a psychiatrist, preferably one that is associated with a university teaching hospital.
