Yes, panic attacks can wake you from sleep in the middle of the night. Panic attacks have a random and abrupt onset, so they can start at anytime, anywhere. A panic attack can happen out of the blue. So you can be sitting in your chair watching television; you can be driving in your car; or you can be lying in your bed asleep- it doesn't matter- a panic attack can occur out of the blue at these times and places and at any other time or place.
However, you may be describing night sweats from a medical problem rather than a mental one- it could be an infection, a hormonal problem, or a metabolic problem. Therefore, it is important to see your doctor for a medical assessment to rule-out a medical problem, before assuming it is a panic attack.
