Yes, a short-acting antidepressant, like Paxil (paroxetine), can be taken taken twice a day, and is actually preferred if the antidepressant does not last the whole day. The fatigue and drowsiness from Paxil can last for a few weeks, then tends to go away. For Paxil, the effective doses for anxiety are between 20 to 40 mg daily.
