Seroquel (quetiapine) is a serotonin antagonist, and dopamine antagonist, which are important in addressing psychosis and mood disorder (bipolar disorder and depression). It is rarely used for anxiety, and only when the anxiety is severe and not successfully treated with conventional anxiolytic medications. It's safe over the short-term, but long term use of this class of medications is fraught with severe side effects. Talk to your doctor, but this medication is reserved for severe mood and psychotic disorders, and rarely for anxiety disorders.
