The main foods to avoid when you have panic disorder are food items that contain caffeine and other types of stimulants. So avoid too much coffee, energy drinks, and Red Bull. Caffeine and and other central nervous system (CNS) stimulants can trigger and exacerbate panic attacks.

It is also a good idea to avoid alcohol, as you can get panic attacks when you are withdrawing from the alcohol. Alcohol is a CNS depressant, so although you may be less anxious while intoxicated, you may get more anxiety symptoms when you are withdrawing from it.
