The answer is yes- nervousness (anxiety) and stress can exacerbate eye twitching, also known as nystagmus. Stress and anxiety have a negative impact on nystagmus (Cham et al., 2013).
If you have nystagmus, it is recommended that you see your doctor, to rule out any medical problems that may be causing this symptom. If your doctor rules out a medical problem, then you can reduce your eye twitching by reducing your stress and treating your anxiety (nervousness).
