The behavioral approach to treating panic disorder involves both changing your irrational thoughts and the maladaptive behaviors which maintain the negative, vicious cycle of panic disorder:
But you can't just focus on the behavioral aspect, as the behavioral component is closely tied to your irrational thoughts about the trigger. As the video above details, the behavioral approach involves switching from avoidant behaviors to exposing yourself gradually to your fears and triggers. At the same time, you will also address your irrational thinking about the trigger, and change your thoughts to more hopeful and positive ones. This whole approach is called CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy).
