Being stressed out can cause what types of problems?

0 votes
I seem to be stressed-out all the time, as my boss is a jerk, I can hardly pay my bills, and my boyfriend and I fight alot. I'm worried about what problems can happen when I'm stressed-out for such a long time.

Being stressed-out for a long time can cause both psychological problems and physical problems. With regards to psychological problems, chronic stress can lead to depression and/or anxiety. Which one develops depends on how you think about your stressors (click here to learn more). So if you don't deal with your stress, then you are at risk of developing depression and anxiety.

There are also many physical problems that may occur with being stressed-out. With chronic stress, you can develop heart problems, high blood pressure, skin problems (acne, eczema, psoriasis), more infections, and diabetes. So chronic stress can give you medical problems and can make you look unhealthy with skin problems such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis.
