Can Prozac cause nervousness?

Yes, Prozac (fluoxetine), can cause nervousness. Prozac can be quite activating, meaning it can cause agitation, anxiety, nervousness, and insomnia, especially when first starting it. This activation from Prozac is one of the main reasons why I choose other SSRIs that are less activating, such as Zoloft (sertraline), Celexa (citalopram), and Lexapro (escitalopram).
