I'm an athlete and I often get anxious and worried right before the day of competition. How can I control my anxiety so that it does not affect my performance?

If you have too much anxiety, it can negatively affect your performance. So if you are getting so worked-up before competition, then you may need to institute some relaxation routines into your practice and work-out schedule. Examples of relaxation techniques include progressive muscle relaxation, diaphragmatic breathing, imagery and visualization, and yoga. When you use these relaxation techniques to reduce your overall anxiety levels, then you may find that your sport performance will improve as well.
