Yes, you can change your fight or flight response. Changing your fight or flight response involves changing your stress and anxiety levels, as the fight or flight response is triggered by stress, anxiety, and fear. If you are too stressed out or are highly anxious, then your fight or flight response is triggered to the fullest extent. If you have no anxiety and no stress, then your fight or flight response is not triggered, and you are basically just breathing with a pulse, and just one step removed from being comatose.

So you can change your fight or flight response by changing your anxiety and stress levels. If you can't control your stressors, then you can still control the fight or flight response by how you cope with the stressors. If your goal is to decrease an overactive fight or flight response, then you can engage in CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and relaxation techniques to decrease your overall anxiety levels, and hence decrease your fight or flight response.

You can even resort to natural supplements for anxiety to decrease your fight or flight response. But if your anxiety symptoms are so severe that it triggers your fight or flight response so that you are now having panic attacks, then your doctor may need to consider prescription medications for anxiety.
